Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, House of Representatives Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, are among dignitaries to headline the 1980-1983 set of the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos (UNILAG) alumni association’s 13th to 15th combined reunion.
The event, tagged: ‘Eko 2020-2022’, with the theme: ‘Celebrating 40 plus years of friendship’, will hold April 8 to 10 at Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos.
A statement by Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) Justice Idowu Alakija, and association’s National Publicity Secretary Francis Effanga, said an Annual General Meeting (AGM) will hold on April 9, among others.
A thanksgiving service holds on April 10 at Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), in Ikeja, for Christians, with Muslim members holding prayers at the Radisson Blu Mosque.
Besides Osinbajo, who was class lecturer on Law of Evidence, and Gbajabiamila, others to attend include Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Channels’ Chief Executive Officer Dr. John Momoh, who is president of the association, and law professors.
All members of the flagship law class, both at home and abroad, are also expected.
Class President Justice Mobolaji Ojo, who hands over on Saturday, said the reunion is ‘a unique opportunity for the class to celebrate and meet again after almost three years of break due to COVID-19’.
He said they will discuss legal and social developments in the world and seek ways of assisting the faculty.
