Aisha Buhari, the wife of President Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret. ), has been urged by comedian and actor Debo Adedayo, also known as Mr. Macaroni, to file a lawsuit if she feels wronged by a social media post about her made by Aminu Mohammed, a student at the Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State.
Mr. Macaroni advised the First Lady to exercise restraint and instead go to court as required by law.
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Wuse Zone II, Abuja, detained the National Association of Nigerian Students, Mohammed, in response to a tweet that read “Su mama anchi kudin talakawa a koshi,” which translates from Hausa to “the mother has gotten fatter by devouring masses’ money.”
Usman Barambu, the president of NANS, apologized to the First Lady on behalf of Nigerian students in a statement on Tuesday.
Barambu described how police in Abuja followed Mohammed to Jigawa, where they were able to arrest him. As a result, he demanded Mohammed’s release.
In a series of tweets posted on Tuesday, Mr. Macaroni responded, claiming that because he had experienced “oppression,” he was well-qualified to address problems similar to Mohammed’s.
“I can talk about things like this so much because I’ve experienced oppression and abuse, and I know how awful it is! They will act in an inconceivable manner if they have the support of political figures and are holding you captive. Dem lick the finish line!
