Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has admonished voters on the need to make quality representation a priority of would-be lawmakers.
Governor Adeleke made this known shortly after casting his vote at Sagba Abogunde, ward 2, Unit 9 in Ede, Ede North Local Government Area on Saturday.
The House of Assembly election is holding in the state, but a gubernatorial election was held on July 16, 2022.
Speaking with journalists after casting his vote, Adeleke said he was very happy and satisfied with the conduct of the polls so far.
He noted that he had informed the security personnel to guard against any electoral violence adding that he had equally ordered them during the last security meeting to ensure maximum security of electorates.
The governor specifically commended the electoral umpire, Independent National Electoral Commission, for the way and manner they have been going about the conduct of the election, believing that peace will reign throughout the process.
“I enjoin voters to go out en-mass to perform their civic responsibilities as security agents are on ground to protect them.
“I also advise voters to stay at their polling units after casting their votes in order to obey movement restrictions order,” he said.
Adeleke equally urged the people of Osun not to engage in any breakdown of law and order.
The Governor arrived at the polling unit around 8:45 am and cast his vote at exactly 8:50 am after accreditation by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
