Comedian Ayo Makun, widely recognized as AY, has issued a public apology to Afrobeats artist Davido for making an insensitive comment about him.
AY found himself in the spotlight after a video of his performance in Warri, where he made a joke at Davido’s expense, circulated on social media. The joke centered around Davido’s multiple baby mamas.
AY’s recent addition to his family, a new baby, arrived 13 years after the birth of his first child, Michelle. In the viral video, AY remarked, “Davido, with his small member, impregnating several women, whereas I, with my well-endowed Warri masculinity, haven’t caused a pregnancy in 13 years.”
This joke was met with significant criticism from many people who found it offensive and inappropriate. They condemned AY for making personal and potentially hurtful comments about the singer.
In response to the backlash, AY took to his official Instagram account to offer a heartfelt apology to Davido. He expressed regret for the manner in which the joke was delivered in Warri, emphasizing that it should not be referred to as a joke anymore. AY acknowledged that it was not funny, especially compared to his performances during his Canada and US tour. He recognized that Davido had every right to be upset, especially considering how the incident was sensationalized by blogs.
AY stated that the entertainment business is a learning experience for all involved, and he accepted any backlash resulting from the poorly delivered joke. He expressed his love for Davido and reaffirmed his status as Davido’s number one fan.

Renowned Nigerian musician Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has suggested that he belongs in the same league as Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.

According to him, these power plants make substantial contributions to Nigeria’s electricity supply.
In discussing his family’s business ventures and personal investments, Davido mentioned his brief foray into cryptocurrency due to its popularity in Nigeria. He also highlighted his family’s involvement in the energy sector, emphasizing their ownership of four lucrative power plants that distribute electricity across a considerable portion of Nigeria.
Additionally, Davido disclosed plans to venture into the restaurant business with his wife, who has a passion for culinary arts. However, he reiterated that his primary focus remains on his music career.
While Davido’s family boasts wealth and investments in the energy sector, some observers may dispute his claim that their power plants supply the majority of Nigeria’s energy needs. The Nigerian government owns most of the significant thermal and hydropower plants in the country.
Controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, aka Portable, has pleaded with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to forgive him if they have any evidence against him abusing the Naira.
He said it was never his intention to mutilate the Naira, stressing that he only sprays money to help the masses.
Speaking in a recent Instagram live session, Portable noted that he respects constituted authority.
He said, “After God na government. I’m not mutilating the naira. I only help a lot of people. If you see me spraying money please forgive me.”
