Transfer: Osimhen has not agreed a deal with Liverpool – Romano

Fabrizio Romano, a reputable transfer expert, has refuted rumors of any deal between Victor Osimhen and Liverpool. Last week, there were reports that Liverpool had reached an agreement on personal terms with the Nigerian international. However, Romano has stated that there is no such agreement in place between the Premier League giants and Osimhen.

“Chelsea is monitoring Victor Osimhen. In Italy, some media outlets have been reporting that Victor Osimhen has already agreed to contract terms with Liverpool,” Romano mentioned on his YouTube channel. “From the information I’ve received, at this point, Victor Osimhen has not reached any agreement with any club, not even with Napoli; there is no contract extension deal in place. He hasn’t agreed to terms with any club, so Osimhen will take his time. The reports of a done deal with Liverpool are not accurate.”

Osimhen’s future is uncertain once more due to a recent dispute with the Serie A champions. The 24-year-old was displeased with two TikTok videos posted by the club, which mocked him after he missed a penalty against Bologna. Napoli is also frustrated after the striker returned from international duty with an injury last week.

Napoli coach Francesco Calzona has issued a stern warning to Victor Osimhen and his fellow players, emphasizing that he will base his selection for matches solely on performance, without considering their names or reputations.

Taking over from Walter Mazzarri on Monday, Calzona made significant substitutions during Napoli’s 1-1 draw with Barcelona on Wednesday night, including star forwards Osimhen and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Despite the Serie A champions securing a draw in the first leg of the Round of 16 contest at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, Osimhen was replaced immediately after scoring the equalizer in the 75th minute.

“I keep the players on the field who are performing well, I don’t take into account their names,” Calzona emphasized to Sky Sports Italia after the match.

Calzona further explained that he had not been tempted to keep Osimhen on the field longer after his goal. “No, in fact, I had been prepared to substitute him earlier, but due to tactical considerations, I kept him on for a few more minutes.”
