BEYOND THE UMBRELLA: WHEN PDP'S SHADOW NO LONGER PROVIDES SHELTER

The recent accusations of opportunism leveled against us for running the 2027: TINUBU/UMO ENO SUPPORT GROUP  barely scratch the surface of our frustrations with the current state of affairs in PDP. The truth is, staying in a party with leaders consumed by greed and self-interest has become an unbearable burden. If only we had leaders like Pastor Umo Eno , whose vision and integrity inspire hope and confidence, we wouldn’t be contemplating an exit.

The PDP’s descent into chaos and disarray is glaringly evident in the rampant victimization and deliberate political elimination in some local government areas. This toxic environment has pushed many to the brink, making us wonder if the party’s values have been irreparably lost. The blatant disregard for merit and the relentless marginalization of those deemed “not loyal enough” have created an atmosphere of fear and mistrust.

As some of us consider the possibility of the governor decamping to APC, we can’t help but hope that this move might bring an end to the culture of victimization that’s taken hold. Perhaps, in a new party, those perpetuating this toxic behavior will be forced to confront the consequences of their actions and change their ways. Alternatively, if they choose to stay in PDP, they might be compelled to reevaluate their treatment of others and adopt a more inclusive approach.

The uncertainty of the future is undeniable, but one thing is clear: we can’t continue down this path. The constant stress and anxiety of living in a state of political purgatory have taken a toll on many of us. We’ve had enough of being treated like pawns in a game controlled by a select few. It’s time for a change, and we’re willing to explore new options to find a party that values and respects its members.

In the midst of this turmoil, one phrase gives us hope: “Las las, everyone will be alright.” It’s a reminder that, despite the challenges we’re facing, better days are ahead. We’ve been battered and bruised, but we’re not broken. We’re ready to move forward, and we’ll do what’s necessary to ensure our voices are heard and our rights are respected. The journey ahead won’t be easy, but with courage and determination, we’ll emerge stronger and more united than ever.

In life change remains that constant and it comes with a breath of fresh air, though with its uncertainty but this false comfort in the umbrella Party gradually chokes.
