Former England striker Gary Lineker has predicted which two clubs will reach this season’s UEFA Champions League final.
With Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, and Inter Milan competing in the semi-finals, the first-leg results saw PSG edge Arsenal 1-0, while Barcelona and Inter Milan played out an entertaining 3-3 draw.
Despite the tight contests, Lineker believes PSG and Barcelona will ultimately make it to the final in Germany later this month.
Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, Lineker said, “I think it’ll be Barcelona vs PSG – although I’m not hugely confident about it.”
He acknowledged that Arsenal still have a chance, saying, “They’re not completely out of it, but it’s a big challenge, especially away from home with a relatively young team… though Barcelona’s side is just as young.”
Commenting on the other semi-final, he added, “Barcelona vs Inter could go either way, but I just can’t bet against this Barcelona team – their style of play is phenomenal.”
Lineker also expressed a personal preference: “I’d love to see Arsenal face Barcelona in the final, mainly because I support English football.”
