In a historic milestone for Nigeria’s presence in international pageantry, Chidi Udengwu has been crowned Mister Universe Nigeria 2025, becoming the country’s first-ever delegate to participate in the Mister Universe competition, set to take place in the United States later this year.
Udengwu earned the title after making it to the Top Six at the Misters of Nigeria 2025 grand finale, held on May 11 at the MUSON Centre in Lagos. Selected from a competitive field of 21 contestants representing various regions nationwide, his win marks a significant step for Nigeria in the world of male beauty pageants.
Born in the United States to Nigerian parents from Enugu State, Udengwu brings a rich blend of cultural heritage and professional experience to the role. He is a law enforcement officer, athlete, and model, admired for his strong sense of discipline, ambition, and pride in his roots.
Reflecting on his achievement, Udengwu shared the influence of his family:
“I come from a family grounded in purpose and excellence. My brother, Nnadi, works in healthcare, and my sister, Chika, is an attorney. Their accomplishments, along with the values our parents instilled in us, have always inspired me to reach higher.”
Now carrying the Mister Universe Nigeria title, Udengwu is more than just a pageant winner—he represents the dreams of a new generation. His journey, combining Nigerian identity with global experience, positions him as a compelling ambassador for the country on the international stage.
