A recent video has gone viral showing Pastor Umo Eno, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, humbly waiting to receive Senate President Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio GCON as he alights from the plane in Delta State and calling him “My Oga.” This gesture speaks volumes about the governor’s character and his ability to acknowledge greatness.

Some people might view Governor Umo Eno’s demeanor as weakness, but it’s simply who he is – a man with zero unnecessary pride and needless ego. His humility is a quality that sets him apart from many leaders. I’ve heard some criticize him for taking Ibibio administration to Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio GCON, an Annang man. I wonder, who handed over power to the Ibibios instead of Oro nation? Was it not this same Akpabio (our Oga)?

History has shown that sometimes, individuals may question leadership, but ultimately, they must acknowledge and respect the chosen ones. A certain sect felt the man at the top wasn’t deserving, yet the man kept soaring, and at the end, they had no choice but to bow to the chosen one. Pastor Umo Eno has been discerning enough to know when and how to bend, and this has earned him immense respect.

As I reflect on this moment, I am reminded of the importance of humility in leadership. A man in authority who understands authority wouldn’t waste time, resources, and energy on needless disquiet and opposition. If Governor Umo Eno calls Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio GCON ‘My Oga,’ then he is also my Oga. This gesture has touched my heart, and I believe it will resonate with many.

The Senate President is a man I used to love and admire from a distance and later admired him a little less, but today, because of Pastor Umo Eno’s respect and honor, I dare say he has a place in our hearts. Our Oga, the Senate President, has shown us that leadership is not just about power, but about wisdom, humility, and character.

What I admire most about Governor Umo Eno’s gesture is that it comes from a place of genuine respect and admiration. It’s not about political expediency or self-interest, but about acknowledging the Senate President’s greatness. This kind of humility is rare in today’s world, and it’s what sets these two leaders apart.

In conclusion, I want to commend Governor Umo Eno for his humility and respect for Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio GCON. May this gesture inspire others to follow in his footsteps and acknowledge greatness when they see it. Our Oga, the Senate President, deserves our respect and admiration, and I’m honored to join the chorus of those who sing his praises.
