‘Defenders hate facing him’ – Strachan insists Man Utd should’ve signed Delap

Former Manchester United midfielder Gordon Strachan has expressed his belief that the club should have pursued Liam Delap, who is reportedly close to joining Chelsea from Ipswich Town, during the current transfer window.

Strachan made the remarks following Manchester United’s recent signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.

He suggested that Delap could have been the perfect strike partner for Cunha, describing him as a young, fearless talent with strong finishing ability.

“Liam Delap would have been a fantastic addition for Manchester United if he hadn’t opted for Chelsea,” Strachan told Esports Insider.
“He’s youthful, driven, carries no baggage from Ipswich, and has an instinctive eye for goal. Defenders hate playing against him.”

Strachan concluded by saying that a Cunha–Delap pairing would have brought a dynamic and refreshing attacking option to United’s front line.
