Police: Zone 6 Gets New AIG

A new Assistant Inspector General of Police has been appointed for Zone 6 Police division, Calabar. He is AIG Usman Sule Gomna. He succeeds AIG Zaki M. Ahmed.

According to a Statement by the zone 6 zonal Police command, DSP Nelson A. Okpabi, the Niger-born AIG was appointed into the police force in 1988, as one of the pioneer Cadet Assistant of the then Police Academy Anex Kaduna.

The Zone 6 Headquarters of the Nigeria Police has a new Assistant Inspector-General of Police. He is AIG Usman Sule Gomna, psc. He succeeds AIG Zaki M. Ahmed.

2. The New Assistant Inspector-General of Police hails from Chanchanga LGA of Niger State. He was appointed into the force in 1988 as one of the pioneer Cadet Assistant Superintendent of the then Police Academy Annex Kaduna. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from the renowned Bayero University, Kano.

3. The AIG has before posting to the zone held several command and staff appointments including: 

a). Area Commander Kafanchan, Kaduna State.

b). Area Commander Kontagora, Niger State. 

c). Assistant Commissioner of Police SCID in Taraba State. 

d).   Assistant Commissioner of Police SCID, Niger State. 

e). Deputy Commissioner of Police Welfare, Force Headquarters, Abuja;

f). Deputy Commissioner of Police Administration, Taraba State Command.

g). Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations Zone 5 Benin;

h). Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration, 

Force Headquarter, Abuja; and

I) Commissioner of Police Jigawa State Command.

4. The AIG has equally attended numerous professional courses, missions and conferences including:

United Nations Assistance Mission for Rwanda (UNAMIR)

5. The twenty-ninth AIG has since assumed office and enjoined the peace-loving people of the zone comprising Akwa Ibom and Cross River States to remain law abiding and cooperate with the police in the area of information sharing to enable the zone provide adequate security for the citizens to go about their lawful business.
